22 farmer study group facilitators from seven areas in Malawi’s central region came together from the 14th to 17th July to review the progress made to help their community groups grow in spiritual and practical development. Here are three personal stories that capture something of what God is doing in people’s lives.
A milestone was celebrated on the 17 November 2013 at Lilongwe CCAP. The first group of 17 church members from 14 different congregations in the Nkhoma synod of the Church of Central African Presbyterian graduated as fully-fledged Bible training facilitators for all four foundational Bible training modules.
Bible course facilitators and their spouses, twenty two people in all, attended a Marriage Seminar at Malingude Youth Camp to focus on their marriage relationships and be equipped to help other married couples in their churches. This is part of Veritas College’s on-going effort to equip facilitators to minister in their own local churches.
Workshops entitled ‘Preparing People For Integral Mission Towards Wholistic Development’ were held in six congregations between July and September.
Veritas College in Malawi took its infant steps in 1998 with the Etter family moving from Harpenden in the UK to Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi. They had felt God’s call to assist local churches in training members and leaders for biblical ministry. Since then, God graciously opened many doors for the training and at the beginning of July this year a milestone was reached: 10,030 Veritas Bible training modules had been completed by 6,897 participants.
