As a first time event for Veritas College Malawi, a Small Business Skill Course was held from the 9th to 13th July 2012. Facilitated by Victor Kaimfa and attended by 18 participants from various churches which take part in the Veritas Bible training. The participants are also active members of the Village Savings and Loans (VSL) groups which they have successfully run after receiving training from Veritas. Having completed the Small Business Skills week-long course, the participants now face the challenge to train their group members. The self-managed VSL groups enable their members to save money and provide small loans to group members. However, often these loans are not well used in income generating activities due to lack of skills. So the Small Business Skills course is designed to enhance the participants’ ability to run income generating activities effectively.
