The degree programs of VCI are designed to:

  1. be appropriate for local students in positions of Christian leadership
  2. be appropriate for international students in positions of Christian leadership in other cultures
  3. be consistent with ordination requirements in supporting churches
  4. be consistent with degree requirements of both North American and British higher education systems
  5. maintain academic standards comparable to those of accredited institutions.

The nomenclature is intended to be non-prejudicial for external students in countries of religious discrimination.
