The Southern Cape is perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. In the hope of finding work, thousands of Xhosa-speaking people have moved from the Eastern Cape to this part of the country. In the area covering George, Mossel Bay, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn, De Rust, Plettenberg Bay and Knysna the United Reformed Church (URC) has only one trained minister.

In 2009 Veritas started training in George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay on invitation from the URC .
