Sudan is the largest country in Africa covering an area of almost 2.5 million square kilometres. It has only recently emerged from a 21 year long civil war which pitted the mainly Muslim North against the mainly Christian and animistic South. The western part of the country is currently very unstable due to conflict between different ethnic groups in the Darfur region.
The work of Veritas College in Sudan started in 2003 in response to the huge need for training among Christian leaders in the south of the country and for those working in refugee communities in the North.  The work has grown to include other parts of the country with many people being trained in areas where few, if any, training opportunities have been available over the past few decades. Veritas in Sudan is working in a very challenging environment.
